Unusual Sighting Reports
LVAAS frequently gets calls requesting help to identify various types of unusual sightings.  Unfortunately LVAAS cannot respond to all of these reports.  The reported sightings range from bright objects seen at sunrise or sunset, dim objects which move slowly across the sky, objects that suddenly brighten then dim as the arc across the sky and strange glowing clouds.  Most of these sighting are all natural or manmade phenomena that can easily be explained.  Here are links to a few websites that can offer clues as to what you saw.
This website provides up-to-date information on many unusual sightings.
This is a great website that provides predictions of satellite observations.
This site provides an online planetarium application.  It is useful for determining what objects are or were visible in the night sky for your location and time.
