Comparison of March 19th, 2011 (so called) SuperMoon (Perigee) with July 2009 full moon at apogee.
March 19th Perigee Moon compared with Apogee moon of July 2009 (both at almost full. The March 19th apparition classed as a so called supermoon since perigee occurred within 1 hour of full moon. Hopefully this picture shows the differences in size between full moons at perigee and apogee.
All pictures taken with an Atik16HRC camera on a 80mm Apochromatic refractor at F3. Camera filtered with NDF and scope aperture stopped down to 15mm.
