Jupiter Evening of Dec 23rd 2012. Io is the bright dot to the left of the Great Red Spot. Its shadow is very obvious.
DMK21 mono camera on Orion 8" Newtonian at F20. Meade RGB filters Processed with Castrator/Registax5/AstroImage. This is a TWO COLOR image. Only a Red filtered and a Blue filtered image were recorded. the final picture is a composite using Red as Luminance and true Red, Blue as true Blue, and an average of the Red and Blue as a synthesized Green. A so called RR(G)B image.
