Jupiter Nov 5th 2011, at 8:47pm EDT.
Night of Nov 5th, 2011 StarParty (Guy Fawkes Night). Taken at 8:47pm, showing transit of Io (small white dot at right edge off of the planet), Io's shadow (the black dot on right limb of planet) and the Great Red Spot (under the black dot). GRS is really kind of a Great Sort of Pink Spot at the moment. At least the Southern Equatorial Belt (upper dark belt in these pictures) is back.
Taken on an Orion 8" Newtonian mounted on a Celestron ASGT using an unmodified Philips ToUcam.
