M20 The Trifid Nebula Revisited
M20 the Trifid Nebula H II region in Sagittarius
A combination of an open cluster of stars; emission nebula (the lower, red portion),
reflection nebula (the upper, blue portion) and dark nebula.
The dark nebula (Barnard 85), Gives the nebula its three lobed appearance.
The nebula's distance is uncertain, with values given between 2,200 light years to about 9000" light years.

Thanks Sandra, TBT, finally getting back home and looking at it on my desktop I'm not really satisfied. I've reprocessed it using DSLR data from 2014 for color. Update 7/30/16
