Approximately 3000 light years away, the elephant's trunk nebula is a zone of dark dust in a gas cloud hundreds of LY across in the constellation Cepheus. Taken 9-16-10 from Nazareth, PA 10 x 5min Ha filtered OSC Atik 16C CCD camera. False Ha color added in PS with Carboni's Astronomy Actions. 90mm Megrez APO, Losmandy GM-8 mount. Nebulosity and PHD.
