Hey all, It looks like Tuesday the 24th should be a good night. The comet should be close to Saturn. Tim |

Lets not forget Feb. 28th. Lulin will be very close to Regulus on that night TheDobMan |

Regarding the 24th, Saturn is viewable by about 10pm if you don't have any obstructions. From LVAAS, probably 11pm is a good starting time. Tim |

Tim, Weather for Comet Lulin looks clear on the 24th. Arriving at SM at 9pm seems feasible and observing until 11pm is the game plan so far. Gary TheDobMan |

I SAW IT!!! Right where the charts said it would be. Leo was in the S-SE sky with Saturn right below the 'hind legs'. To the right about 3 degrees (give or take a bit) and down maybe 2 degrees was a fuzzy ball. Conditions were bad tonight, partly cloudy and very windy, couldn't get much over 80x mag. What a sight! I'm still defrosting! Tim BTW: I also saw the moons of Saturn. They are supposed to transit the planet sometime tonight. Just too cold to wait that one out. |

Got it again, this time in both scope and binoculars. It was tougher tonight - east of Saturn by about 5 or 6 degrees. It was sitting in a "v" shape group of stars, #'s 56, 59 & 62, a quarter of the way between Saturn and Regulus. Tim |
